fall family fun

we had more fall family fun this weekend at the orchard getting cider and pumpkins! garrett picked out his first pumpkin. we are looking forward to passing out candy to trick-or-treaters on friday and celebrating his first birthday on sunday - can't believe it's already been one year!

da cabin part III

We made out final trip to da cabin for 2008 over the weekend and it couldn't have been a more beautiful weekend and beautiful colors. It was a whole new experience for Garrett now that he is walking, all kinds of things to check out and a big yard to play in. We went for a long hike on Friday just the three of us plus Zoe, cooked yummy food (including mama's new speciality - carrot cake!), and relaxed and played together. On Saturday the rest of the family arrived and the fun didn't stop until we all left on Sunday. Garrett helped Grampa cut grass, gathered pine needles in the yard, and enjoyed spending time with his Uncle Jack, Grama & Grampa, AC, Keri, Jana, Joy, and Great Grams.

apple orchard part II

Yesterday Garrett and I met up with some friends at an apple orchard, the second one of the season. We had a great time and braved the chilly fall morning. They had a petting zoo, lots of pumpkins, photo opps and of course apples & hot cider. Later on we met up with an old college friend for lunch in Ann Arbor and stopped to bring mama lunch and visit her at work, working hard of course. It was a fun weekend for sure. Garrett had really started a walking explosion over the last week, and he isn't taking his time about it, the boy can move!

what a day with mama

garrett and his mama had quite an exciting day today. every friday they get to stay home and play together all day long and today there was lots of activity. they went for a run, a long walk, stopping at three different parks in neighborhood and then when i got home we all went for a bike ride. add a few naps and meals and that pretty much filled up his whole day. he went down very quickly tonight, which is no surprise.
